Sausage Hash Brown Bake

2 pounds pork sausage ( I substitute half with hot italian sausage)

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese- divided

1 can condensed cream of chicken soup

1 cup sour cream

1 carton (8 ounces) french onion dip

1 cup chopped onion

1/4 cup each chooped green peppers, and sweet red peppers

1/8 tsp pepper

1 package ( 30 ounces) frozen shredded hash brown potatoes thawd.


1. large skilled brown sausage over medium heat until no longer pink

2. drain on paper towel

3. in a large bowl, combine 1 3/4 cups cheese and the remaining ingredients

4. spread half into a greased shallow 3 qt baking dish

5. top with sausage and remaining potato mixture.

6. sprinkle with remaining cheese.  Cover and bake 350 for 45 minutes .  

7. uncover and bake for 10 min longer or as needed
