Chili
  • 1 pound hamburger
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 - 10 3/4 ounce can tomato puree
  • 1 - 15 1/2 ounce can kidney beans
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 can tomatoes
  • 1 cup water
Methods/steps
  1. Brown hamburger and onion.
  2. Stir in remaining ingredients.
  3. Simmer about 45 minutes.
Additional Tips
We like the chili spicy but not as many tomatoes, so I use Rotel tomatoes with green chili for the tomato and only 1 teaspoon of chili powder. You can adjust the seasonings to your liking and also the thickness of the chili. More or less water. Also can add a can of tomato paste if you would like to have it thicker. To lighten the fat content, I use half ground turkey and half ground beef.
