Beer Bread

  • 3 cups sifted flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 - 12 ounce beer, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup butter
Methods/steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix together flour, sugar, salt & baking powder.
  3. Pour in beer, all at once (it will foam).
  4. Put in a greased loaf pan.
  5. Let rise 10 minutes.
  6. Bake 1 hour.
  7. After baking brush with butter.
  8. Will have a rough apearance.
Additional Tips
For a crusty crust brush the top before you bake it. For a softer crust brush the bread after it is baked. Or for a softer bread, mix the butter into the bread. Good toasted! If using self rising flour, the recipe is: 3 cups self rising flour, sifted 3 tablespoons sugar 1 - 12 ounce beer, room temperature 1/4 cup butter
