Spicy Potato Planks

  • 3 medium potatoes (about 1 1/2 pounds)
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)
  • 1/8 teaspoon garam masala, if desired
  • 1 large clove garlic, crushed
  1. 1. Cover whole potatoes with salted water
  2. .2. Bring to a boil until almost tender (about 15 minutes).
  3. 3. Drain. Cool slightly.
  4. 4. Cut each potato lengthwise into 4 or 5 slices.
  5. 5. Melt butter and add remaining ingredients.
  6. 6. Brush grill with oil.
  7. 7. Brush potatoes genreously with butter mixture.
  8. 8. Cook potatoes, turning 2 or 3 times and brushing with butter mixture until tender and browned.
Additional Tips
These are more fun to make if you have a couple of people helping, so one person can put them on and turn them, while the other person keeps them buttered.Make plenty, they go fast!
