Whipped Cream

Yummier (and a bit healthier) than ready-made!

about 2 cups
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (either powdered or granular; add more for more sweetness)
  1. Chill a metal bowl and mixing beaters in the freezer for at least 10-15 minutes.
  2. Pour cream into bowl and beat until peaks barely form (this takes a few minutes).
  3. While still beating, add in vanilla and gradually add in sugar, beating until peaks form.
  4. Serve or refrigerate immediately.
Additional Tips

Peaks are formed when you can lift the beaters out and it keeps its shape. This takes some time and practice to know what you are looking for. (Thankfully whipped cream is yummy regardless, it will just be runny). Just be careful not to over-beat-you don't want it turning into butter! Serve with pudding, fruit, sponge cake or ice cream! Can be colored using a little food coloring for a special treat!
