Easy Yummy Pickles

Description Very easy, no need to seal tham.

2 quart jar each
  • 2 tablespoons pickling salt
  • 1 tablespoon mixed pickling spice
  • 1 teaspoon powdered alum
  • 2 cups cold vinegar
  • cucumbers
  • cold water
Methods/steps
  1. Wash and pack whole medium sized cucumbers in a 2 quart jar.
  2. To each jar add: 2 tablespoons pickling salt, 1 tablespoon pickling spice, 1 teaspoon powdered alum and 2 cups cold vinegar.
  3. Fill jar with cold water and cover airtight. (Do not seal, just tightly turn on lid and ring).
  4. Let set at least 5 weeks.
  5. Drain and wash in two waters until clean.
  6. Slice 1/2 inch thick, cover with 2 cups sugar.
  7. Refridgrate.
  8. Stir once in a while.
  9. May use after the second day.
  10. Keep refridgerated.
Additional Tips
Very easy and good! No canning or sealing required!
