Layered Lettuce Salad

At a glance
  • 1 head lettuce, torn in pieces
  • 1 layer shredded carrots
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 layer diced celery
  • 1 - 10 ounce package frozen peas
  • 1 1/2 cups miracle whip
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 4 ounces cheddar cheese, grated
  • 8 slices bacon, fried and diced
  • pepper
  • fresh parsley
  1. Rinse peas under hot water and drain throuoghly. Dry with paper towel.
  2. Tear the lettuce into bite size pieces and place in 9X13 pan.
  3. Layer the rest of the ingredients in the order given.
  4. Sprinkle with pepper.
  5. Add the sugar to the miracle whip, mix well and spread over the top.
  6. Top with cheese, cover and refridgerate at least 3 hours or overnight.
  7. At serving time, garnish with bacon and parsley.
Additional Tips
Can also add croutons, tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers or hard boiled eggs. Whatever you prefer...
