Chocolate Fudge Cake

  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 3 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
  • 1 1/4 cups buttermilk or sour milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 eggs
Methods/steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease and flour 2 - 9 inch pans.
  3. Put all ingredients in large mixer bowl.
  4. Beat at 2 for 2 minutes.
  5. Increase speed to 7 beating until smooth and fluffly, about 4 minutes.
  6. Pour into prepared pans.
  7. Bake 35-40 minutes.
  8. Cool and remove from pans.
