At a glance
  • clean popsicle sticks
  • ripe bananas (not green, but not brown)
  • 1 package (16 ounces) semisweet or dark chocolate chips (will do 10 about bananas)
  • things to roll the banana in like flaked coconut, nuts, sprinkles, crushed oreo cookies
  • a baking sheet or cake pan that will fit in your freezer
  1. Peel the bananas and cut them in half (crosswise, not lengthwise).
  2. Line the baking sheet with wax paper.
  3. Insert a popsicle stick into the cut end of the banana.
  4. Place the banana pops on the baking sheet and freeze about 2 hours.
  5. When the bananas are frozen, melt the chocolate chips.
  6. Dip or spread the melted chocolate over the bananas to cover them.
  7. Quickly roll the bananas in the topping of your choice.
  8. Put the dipped bananas back in the freezer until the chocolate is firm.
  9. Eat immediately or store in a covered container in the freezer.
Additional Tips
Fun for the kids! Taste almost like banana ice cream, but t doesn't drip!
