Chuck Wagon Ranch Round Steak

  • 3 pounds beef round steak, cut into serving pieces ( I use tenderized round steak)
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Methods/steps
  1. Trim fat, slash edges to prevent curling.
  2. Combine flour, dry mustard, salt, and pepper; use this to coat the meat. Reserve the remaining mixture.
  3. In skillet, brown meat on both sides in hot oil.
  4. Push meat to one side.
  5. Stir in reserved flour mixture.
  6. Combine water and Worcestershire sauce; stir into skillet.
  7. Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly; reduce heat.
  8. Simmer meat in gravy, covered, for 1 to 1 1/4 hours or until tender.
  9. Remove meat to warm platter.
  10. Drizzle gravy over meat or pass with the meat.
  11. Gravy is also good on potatoes.
