Bread stuffing for turkey

3 cups
  • 3 tablespoons chopped oil
  • 1/4 cup celery
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 small can mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 4 cups dry bread cubes (about 7 slices cut into 1/2 inch cubes)
  • 1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground sage
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 to 4 tablespoons chicken broth or water
Methods/steps
  1. Cook onion and celery in butter until tender.
  2. Combine bread cubes, mushrooms, raisins, and seasonings.
  3. Toss with enough liquid to moisten.
  4. Makes about 3 cups, enough to stuff a 4 to 5 pound chicken or turkey.
