Star of Bethlehem Cookies

Description A good peanut butter cookie with a touch of chocolate.

6-8 dozen
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Brachs chocolate stars
  • additional white sugar for rolling the cookie in before baking
  1. Cream sugars, butter and peanut butter.
  2. Beat in the eggs, milk and vanilla.
  3. Mix together the flour, soda and salt and stir into the cookie batter.
  4. Chill thoroughly for ease of handling.
  5. Shape into balls the size of a walnut and roll each one in additional sugar.
  6. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
  7. Press chocolate star in the center of each cookie while still hot.
  8. Chocolate will melt and harden again. 
  9. Let cool until chocolate is hard before putting in container.
  10. We like ours cold, so we store them in the refrigerator.
  11. Beware - they don't last long!
