Apple Crisp

  • 8 tart apples
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter
Methods/steps
  1. Peel, core and slice the apples into a bowl of salt water (the salt water keeps the apples from turning brown).
  2. Put the apples slices in a 9 inch square glass pan.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the rest of the ingredients with a pastry blender or two knives or with your hands, until crumbly.
  4. Put on top of apples in pan.
  5. Bake in 350 degrees oven for 1 hour.
  6. Serve with milk, whipped cream or ice cream. 
Additional Tips
Use as many apples as you need.  The apples cook down as they bake, so you need a nice pan full.
