1 1/2 cups boiling water

1 cup oatmeal

1 cup brown sugar

1 cup white sugar

1/2 cup butter

2 eggs

1 1/2 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon cocoa

1/2 cup chocolate chips

1/2 cup chocolate chips

1/2 cup walnuts

Methods/steps

1. Pour 1 1/2 cups boiling water over 1 cup oatmeal and let stand for 10 minutes.

2. Add 1 cup brown sugar, 1 cup white sugar, and 1/2 cup butter and beat well.

3. Add 2 eggs and beat well.

4. Beat in the 1 1/2 cups flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1 tablespoon cocoa.

5. Stir in 1/2 cup chocolate chips.

6. Pour in greased and floured 9X13pan.

7. Sprinkle 1/2 cup chocolate chips and 1/2 cup walnuts on top of the batter.

8. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. 

Additional Tips
No need to frost this one!  The chips and nuts take care of that!
