  • 8 cups sliced, peeled tart apples
  • 2 cups chopped dates
  • 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup cold butter
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • Additional apple slices, optional
Methods/steps
  1. In an ungreased 13x9 inch baking dish, combine apples and dates.
  2. In a small bowl, combine sugar, flour and cinnamon; cut in butter until crumbly.
  3. Add nuts; sprinkle over apples.
  4. Bake at 375 degrees for 30-40 minutes or until apples are tender.
  5. Serve warm.
  6. Garnish with apple slices, if desired.
