  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon almond flavoring
  • FROSTING:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond flavoring
  • a little hot water
  • Crushed walnuts 
Methods/steps
  1. Mix 1 cup flour and 1/2 cup butter with pastry blender and then add 2 tablespoons water. Mix with a fork and then with your hands until it holds together.
  2. Pat thin, making two strips 4 3/4x14 inches in a 10 x 14 pan.
  3. Boil 1 cup water and 1/2 cup butter.
  4. Add 1 cup flour and mix until it leaves the sides of the pan.
  5. Take off of the stove and put in big mixing bowl.  Add eggs, one at a time, and beat well after each egg.
  6. Add 1 teaspoon almond flavoring.
  7. Put on top of first mixture.
  8. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes or until brown.
  9. Cool.
  10. For the frosting, mix 1 cup powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon butter and 1/2 teaspoon almond flavoring, add a little hot water and spread on cooled pastry.
  11. Top with crushed walnuts.
